It is our great pleasure and privilege to announce that the Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS) will present the "2009 Acton Chinese Music Night "on Saturday, November 14th, 7:00 pm, at the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School auditorium.
The two-hour performance will lead you into the fantasy land of China for an unforgettable night of enchantment. It will be a night of wondrous sounds and color of Chinese performance arts including traditional Chinese music, Beijing opera, chorus, as well as acrobatics, Chinese martial arts, Chinese drum, Chinese yo-yo, traditional Chinese dance and dance pieces from two famous Chinese dance dramas, "Dunhuang My Dreamland- Tales of the Silk Road" and "Nightingale".

The performance will feature the Meantones Recorder Quartet, Boston Beijing Opera Association, GBCCA Chinese Music Ensemble & Youth Chinese Ensemble, the North American Chorus Association (NACA), Biyun Dance Studio, Angel Dance Troupe, Sunshine Dance Troupe and Commonwealth Ballet Company, internationally acclaimed acrobat Wangju Chen, Acton Martial Arts team, Chinese yo-yo player Jason Pao, and drummers from the Cambridge Center for Chinese Culture.
ACLS successfully hosted Acton Chinese Music Night in
2006
and
2007.
They were spectacular performances in every way. Many people were amazed by the fantastic acts and suggested that the event should be held annually for the local community. A few renowned local organizations have been very supportive of this wonderful cultural enrichment event in town, including Acton-Boxborough Community Education, Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council, Acton Memorial Library Foundation, Inc., Acton School of Ballet, Chinese Martial Arts Division of Athletic Balance, LLC, and the Town of Acton Recreation Department.
Tickets are $5.00 per person for general admission. Children under the age of 5 are not admitted. Tickets will be available starting on Saturday, October 10th during Oktoberfest and will continue during regular business hours at the following locations in Acton (special days and hours are indicated). For your convenience, the tickets will also be available for online purchase starting October 10th. As a courtesy to our patrons, ACLS will cover the online ticket processing fee (2.5% of ticket price) for each ticket sold online through mkTIX (The credit card processing fee applies).
ACLS is doing the utmost to make this a high quality, yet affordable and accessible event to the community. According to our previous experiences, tickets go very fast. Please buy your tickets as early as possible. You may pay cash or make a check payable to Acton Chinese Language School.
