Acton, MA (October 20, 2009) --- More than 100 performers will be featured in a night of colorful Chinese music and dance on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School auditorium in Acton, Massachusetts.
This "2009 Acton Chinese Music Night" is presented by the Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS), and will showcase the wondrous sights and sounds of China from a variety of well known professional and local amateur groups, including traditional Chinese music and dance groups, Beijing opera, acrobatics, piano, Chinese drum, Chinese yo-yo, and Chinese martial arts, as well as dance pieces from two famous dance dramas - "Dunhuang My Dreamland: Tales of the Silk Road" and "Nightingale."
Featured performers include: The Adult and Youth Chinese Music Ensembles of the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association (GBCCA) ...choral singers from The North American Chorus Association (NACA)... The Commonwealth Ballet Company... The Boston Bejing Opera Association... Chinese drummers from The Cambridge Center for Chinese Culture... the Meantones Recorder Quarter... Biyun Dance Studio... Angel Dance Troupe... Sunshine Dance Troupe... internationally acclaimed acrobat Wangju Chen... Acton Martial Arts Team... Chinese Yo-Yo specialist Jason Pao... piano solo by A-B High School graduate Yang Yang.
"The communities in the Acton and Boxborough area and neighboring towns encompass diverse culture, heritage and traditions," said Jianguo Wang, Principal of the Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS). "This Chinese Music Night gives everyone in our local community an opportunity to learn about the profound Chinese culture, and to experience the historical origins of the Chinese nation through music and dance."
"ACLS successfully hosted Acton Chinese Music Night in 2006 and 2007, and we're pleased to offer it again in 2009. It is through activities such as this that we can show our Chinese community's support and participation in the mainstream society, and we invite all the families here in Acton and surrounding towns to join us for this special night," Wang added.
Supporters of the event include: Acton-Boxborough Community Education/the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council (ABCC)/the Acton Memorial Library Foundation (AMLF)/Acton School of Ballet/Chinese Martial Arts Division of Athletic Balance. LLC/ and the Town of Acton Recreation Department.
General admission tickets are $5.00 each and the performance is appropriate for adults, and children who are five years old and above. Children under five are not admitted.

Other ticket locations include the Acton Chinese Language School in the lobby of the R. J. Grey Junior High School on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m./ and on weekend afternoons at tables outside Roche Brothers, Donelan's and Stop & Shop Supermarkets.
