Dear ACLS Parents and Friends,
The Acton Chinese Language School, Town of Acton Recreation Department, and Acton Boxborough Cultural Council will co-host "2010 Acton Chinese Culture Day" on Saturday, June 5th at NARA Park (rain date: June 12th).
This is an unprecedented whole-day Chinese Cultural event in Acton with various exciting programs running from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The event committee has laid out the ground work for this grand event. The tentative layout is listed below. Now we are calling for more talents/volunteers for this great event. Please contact the responsible committee member(s) if you'd like to help or contribute any ideas.
(1) Ground Performances including professional Dragon Dance, Martial Arts and TaiChi. Please contact Zeming Wang (m.wang81@verizon.net);
(2) Outdoor On-stage Performances at Amphitheater featuring music & dance from local talents and professionals from greater Boston area. Please contact Jeff Yang (tgboy12@gmail.com) or Yang Liu (yangliu_acls@hotmail.com);
(3) Authentic Chinese Food Sale throughout the day. If you are a Chinese restaurant owner or would like to recommend any Chinese restaurants, please contact Yuming Liu (yuming@mit.edu);
(4) Chinese Souvenirs/Traditional Clothes/Arts Sale. If you are a store owner or would like to recommend any Chinese stores with the listed items, please contact Hanlan Liu (hanlan.liu@genzyme.com) or Yuhong Deng (ydeng2004@yahoo.com);
(5) Chinese Books/CD/DVDs Sale. At lease three vendors have agreed to come on-site. Please contact Jianguo Wang (jianguo_weili@yahoo.com) if you'd like to recommend more vendors;
(6) Chinese Bonsai Display (中国盆景). Please contact Guoying Zuo (guoying_zuo@yahoo.com) if you'd like to contribute your Bonsai or recommend someone who owns Bonsai store or has collections;
(7) Chinese Tea Tasting & Sale. Please contact Jianying Shi (jshi65@yahoo.com) if you are a Chinese Tea store owner or would like to help.
(8) Chinese Painting/Calligraphy Exhibition and Chinese Name Writing. We will showcase the art work from ACLS culture classes. Please contact Jindong Li (jli_03@yahoo.com) or Lixin Sun (lixin.sun@gmail.com) if you'd like to participate in the exhibition using your collections or your own masterpieces. If you are good at Chinese calligraphy please come forward to help writing Chinese names using brush on-site;
(9) Chinese Herb Medicines, Acupuncture Tent. There will be on-site consultation and demonstration. If you are a Chinese traditional medicine doctor or know someone who is, please contact Ting Chen (gingertchen@yahoo.com);
(10) Chinese Games for Kids. If you have any ideas about running Chinese games for kids or would like to help, please contact Dongling Wu (donglingwu@gmail.com) or Dick Calandrella (dickcalandrella@earthlink.net);
(11) Chinese Music/Entertainment. If you'd like to contribute your music collections or help selecting music or other Chinese entertainment, please contact Rick Jian (jianhua_jian@hotmail.com);
(12) Chinese Culture Day T-shirt and Souvenirs. Our professional graphic designer Yuanli is designing T-shirt and button pin souvenirs. If you'd like to place an order to catch the discounted price before the event please contact Yuanli (leo_yuan2000@yahoo.com) or Jill Lu (jill_lu@yahoo.com);
(13) Publicity. If you are a reporter, photographer or you'd like to help publicize the event, please contact Xuan Kong (xkong2004@yahoo.com) or Joanne Wu (joannewu1@hotmail.com);
