ACLS Spring 2008 Semester

Registration Information

  1. Registration Dates & Times and Place:

    1. For All Existing Students:

      On-line registration will be open Jan. 02-Jan. 11, 2008.

      In-person registration: Jan. 13, 2008, 2:15-3:30pm .

      Place: Big Cafeteria of R.J Grey Junior High School

    2. For All New Students (For available seats only):

      In-person registration only: 3:30-4:45pm, Jan. 13,2008.

      Place: Big Cafeteria of R.J Grey Junior High School.

  2. Tuition:

    1. For All Language Classes: $145/student/semester

    2. For most Culture Programs: $70/student/semester

    3. The tuition for these three culture classes, Fencing, Kids basketball, and Martial Arts, is $65/student due to limited availability of the big Gyms, which will be available from March.

  3. Fees:

    1. All new students will have a registration fee $10 for a language class and $10 for a culture class.

    2. An existing student who will register classes after Jan. 13, 2008 will require $10 late fee.

    3. Some cultural programs may require a fee for course materials($10-$20). Please see cultural program descriptions for details.

    4. All CSL classes require a fee of $10 for course activities. Please make check (or cash) payable to the individual teacher on the first day of school.

    5. Clubs (e.g. basketball, ping pong, badminton, and chorus) require membership fees.

  4. Parent-On-Duty Deposit:

    There is a deposit of $20/student for all new students in language classes. The purpose of collecting this deposit is to remind every parent to participate in the parent-on-duty activities. The $20 will be returned to students when students leave ACLS if their parents have fulfilled all the duties.

  5. Grade/Class Placement:
    1. For Existing Students:

      All language students should register in the class they are currently in. For example, if John Smith is in class 2a now, he should register for 2a for Spring 2008. There is only one option for you to choose on the web page. If you would like to switch to another class, you need to register first, and then come to the in-person registration session, and adjustments should only be made case by case.

    2. For New Students:

      There will be limited seats in Language Classes K, 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

    3. All Cultural Programs will be open to all students until the class size limit is reached.

    4. For Cultural classes: During on-line registration, if you wish to switch from one to another, please go on-line registration directly to make your changes. Please keep in mind that once you de-select your class, that class is available for others immediately, you may not be able to re-select your original class later. Therefore, please make sure that your target class is available at that very moment before you take any action.

    5. Class switch or withdraw: All class switches have to be completed prior to the 3rd class of the semester (not including the day having the 3rd class) based on availability. No class switch will be processed on or after the day of 3rd class. If you drop any class, it is your responsibility to send a withdraw request to registration@acls-ma.org for refund (Please refer to "Withdraw and refund Policy" below).

  6. Registration Procedures

    For existing students:
    please go to ACLS web site (
    www.acls-ma.org). Please log in on-line registration with your log in ID and password, which will be sent individually to each family IN the email account that you provided to the school. After you have made your selection(s) for language and/or cultural classes, please print out the "Printable Summary " page.

    1. Please send the "Printable Summary" page along with a check ("Due amount" shown on the summary page) to the ACLS (address is shown on the page). Please make sure that the summary page and the payment will be received by ACLS before Jan. 13, 2008. Please note: Any checks without a registration "Summary" page attached will not be processed. If you prefer, you may bring them in during the in-person registration session on Jan. 13, 2008.

    2. Please be sure to write student name and registered class name in the memo area of your check. Please also write your family ID on your check, and make it payable to: ACLS.

    For New Students:
    Please go to ACLS web site (
    www.acls-ma.org). Print out a registration form (one for each student) and fill in all the required information, and come to the in-person registration session on Jan. 13, 2008.

  7. Withdraw and refund Policy:

    An E-mail withdraw request must be sent to registration@acls-ma.org with the student's name and the class (s)he wants to withdraw, or come to the admin office for any withdraw requests to be processed.

    1. A withdraw request received by the day prior to the first class (not including the day having the first class), a full tuition (minus a registration fee of $10 for each student) will be refunded for all language classes and cultural programs.

    2. A withdraw request received by the day prior to the 3rd class (not including the day having the 3rd class), a deduction of $30 from tuition for a language class or $20 for a cultural program, or $40 for both language and cultural classes will apply to each withdrawn student.

    3. No refund will be issued for any requests received on or after the day of 3rd class.

    4. If a class could be cancelled due to unexpected causes, such as instructor's sickness, weather condition, or special events, etc, and if such cancellations are not more than three times to the same class, no refund will be issued.

  8. Late Payment Policy :

    For any account balance not received by the 3rd week of classes, 10% of late payment fee will be charged.
